The Body Shop Hi-Shine Lip Treatment

I got this as a Christmas Present so I don't know if this particular color is still available at The Body Shop.

REVIEW:
Product: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Overall: 3/5
Price: $13 at The Body Shop for .4oz.

According to The Body Shop website...
What it is:
Lip gloss/lip treatment

What it does:
Keep your lips lustrous and conditioned with a passion fruit-scented gloss that features the perfect hint of color.

Other Colors It Comes In:

My Thoughts:
Expensive!!! Good thing I got this as a Christmas present or I would've never bought this for myself. I have lip glosses that do exactly the same thing that costs much less for more product. Now I don't think it works too well as a lip treatment but as a lip gloss it's great!! The fruity smell and the sheerness of this color works well for a natural everyday look. It is a bit drying for me, as are all lip glosses that I own so I have to put a lip balm underneath. I think my lips are just too sensitive! I could just sit here smelling it all day!! It is not sticky to me, but is more like a liquid texture almost. I don't think its worth $13, but I don't like to splurge...

Pictures!

Top: Cinnabon Lip Balm. Haven't opened it yet, but my friend gave it to me because she didn't want it. I think it will be a bit like my Snapple lip balm I used to have a few months ago. I hope it is because I LOVED that lip balm!

Left: Body Shop Born Lippy in Watermelon Lip Balm. Smells like Watermelon bubblegum =) Yummy! Haven't used it because I'm still trying to heal my chapped lips so I don't want to use anything except Chapstick.

Right: Chapstick Medicated Lip Balm. It's like Carmax except in a stick form! Lol, I prefer Carmax, but I don't have any at the moment so this does the job I guess.

Bottom: Bath and Body Works Liplicious in Pineapple Juice. Its a really pretty sheer color with golden shimmer. I can't wait to use it!! I did a review on the Liplicious in Mango Mousse and it was pretty good. I hope this tastes and smells better though!

New Lip stuff!

So I went to the mall again and you know I always have to buy something when I go there!!! So I ended up buying Liplicious in Pineapple Juice and Born Lippy Watermelon Lip Balm from The Body Shop. I'll have pictures up tomorrow because its really dark now and my lighting is really bad. I don't know why, but somehow my lips got extremely chapped overnight so I've been using Chapstick Medicated Lip Balm to try to heal them. Its getting better but I have to keep reapplying every few hours... Don't you just hate chapped lips?! It's so annoying!

A Day at the Mall

So I pretty much spent my entire afternoon at the mall today... Only spent like $17 though lol. Anyways, I have some reviews on some items I tested out at Sephora. I just tested them once, I didn't buy anything. I tested out the FUZE Slenderize Guilt Free Lip Gloss by Too Faced in the Dragonfruit scent or something. I really really really really like the smell of this lip gloss and it goes on super smooth. After a while, it did get sticky and annoying... for $18 I think you could find a better and cheaper lip gloss. I wouldn't recommend this.

The next thing I tried was Bourjois Two-Tone Eyeliner Noir & Blanc. It was pretty good and went on smoothly. It is a double sided pencil; one end is white and the other end is black. I wanted to buy a white eyeliner because it makes your eyes look bigger and it isn't as drastic as black eyeliner all around your eye. Haven't found the right one yet, but pretty close! I'll let you know when I do find a good white eyeliner.

Yes, this post is super long, I hope I don't bore you! Anyways, the next product I tried was the Shu Uemura Mini Eyelash Curler... and overall... *drumroll* I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! It curled my eyelashes really well without having to hold it there for like 20 seconds. It curled my lashes in like... 2 seconds? AMAZING PRODUCT!!! I didn't buy it because I thought I might find it cheaper somewhere online... but no luck so far. I WILL get my hands on this products... lol.

And of course when you curl your lashes... you must always put on some mascara! After I read soooo many good reviews on the Imju Fiberwig Mascara, I tried it and I really like it. It doesn't really add any boldness or anything, it just lengthens. Once in a while, I like to have very little mascara on and this would be a good product to use. It's $22... if it was cheaper I would have bought it. Gosh! Why is makeup so expensive!! *sigh* I think I'll stick to drugstore mascara because I don't want to spend $22 every 3-4 months. If you do have money to splurge, I would definitely recommend this.

I would buy all these products (except the lip gloss) if I had the money!

I went to Target, Walgreens, and Bath and Body works today. Had to get some party favors for the party I'm hosting on Friday! Anyways, I saw E.L.F cosmetics for $1.00 each at Target, so I just had to get them!! I got three lip glosses called Angel, Watermelon, and Pink Kiss. Angel is a sheer gloss with sparkle stuff inside. Pink Kiss is a pale pink color, similar to Bath and Body Works Pink Grapefruit lip gloss. Watermelon is a deeper shade of pink, kind of like maroonish. This line is called Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15. I don't think I'm going to try them out... instead I'll use them as party favors =). I'll ask my friends what they think of it.

Then I headed over to Bath and Body work to check out their new line of C.O Bigelow tinted lip glosses. The smell was too strong for me so I didn't get any, but my sister got Liplicious lip gloss in Frozen Daiquiri. The smell of it isn't that great, but it's bearable, and it looked wonderful on her lips. I did buy a pocket-sized mirror ($4) from them which is super cute!!! I'll get a pic later... It can fit into any purse or bag easily and is about the size of my palm. I wanted one in white, but they didn't have any, so I settled for light blue. I've almost used up my lovely Snapple lip balm so I needed a new one. C.O Bigelow has a lip balm called SPF 15 Mentha Lip Balm Stick (No Shine Formula) and I was temped to get it until I saw the price... $7.50!!! Geez, no way am I paying that much for lip balm... maybe when it's on sale.

The light blue mirror from Bath and Body Works

So to find a good lip balm, I went over to Walgreens to check out their stuff. In the end, I bought Burt's Bees lip balm with Pomegranate oil. It was $2.99. Most of the reviews are good, and hopefully it will be as good as my Snapple lip balm!

Vicoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss

I've tried Beauty Rush Lip gloss for about 2 weeks now and I have to say I'm loving it! The smell is just heavenly, although its too bad you can't really taste the same thing you smell. I decided to pick these lip glosses up because I've seen how popular they are with teens these days... and they were on sale =) I got 2 for $10. There was a 5 for $20 offer, but I decided to test it out first. The flavors I got were Cupquake and Strawberry Fizz. I have only opened Cupquake right now, but when I open Strawberry Fizz, I'll let you know how it smells. Overall, I do like it better than Liplicious because of the way it smells and its cheaper when there are sales and deals. Beauty Rush goes onto my lips smoother without lip balm, but it turns stickier afterwards which is why I use lip balm first =D.

Smell : 5/5 I just can't get over how good they smell!!!

Stickiness: 3/5 I like that it does stay smooth for a while, but once you rubs your lips together it becomes sticky.

Taste: 4/5 It doesn't really taste like anything I think... although I've never really tasted it before.... Lip gloss isn't to eat ya know ;).

Overall: 5/5 I would definitely buy this again!! It makes great gifts for your friends too.

Anyone have their absolute favorite flavor of this series? I would love to hear what flavors I should try next!!!

Sticky lip gloss? Think again!

Don't you just hate sticky lip gloss? I figured out a way to have it not sticky at all! It goes on smooth and stays smooth until you eat or drink something.

1. Apply lip balm on your lips. 3 or 4 coats of it, it needs to be pretty thick. I used this lip balm I got at walmart. Snapple flavor ;) Yum!

2. Then choose your favorite lip gloss, preferably not one with a wand applicator. Then apply a light coat and there you have it. I used Bath and Body Works lip Liplicious lip gloss in Mango Mousse. It shouldn't feel sticky or anything and should last for a while! I've only had to reapply 3x today compared to the 10000000x... lol. You shouldn't have to reapply the lip balm unless it's after meals. Tell me if it works for you!!
