Target and Sally's Haul

So you all probably know by now that I buy most of my makeup at Target. I went the other day because I needed nail polish remover and a new bike lock. If I go into a store that sells makeup, I can't resist looking at their things! With the exception of department stores because those items are way too expensive for me.

Then I went to Sally's because I read some really good reviews on their $1 eyeshadows! I just had to go get some for myself. Plus, it was only $1 so what there to lose? I also bought a mini lipstick.

Left to Right - Sally Girl Connectable eyeshadow singles in Teal, Champagne, Green Apple,Starry Night, Cranberry, and Cinnamon.

I love these eyeshadows!!! They are pigmented and the color is easily buildable. I wore Champagne and Cinnamon today for a neutral look. They come in like so many more colors, but I chose these 6 because I thought I would use these the most. They also snap together so you can make your own pallet thing!

Medium Eyeshadow Brush by StudioTools

I don't have much brushes because I just started collecting makeup and stuff. A good set of brushes for beginners are the StudioTools brand brushes. They can be found at Target and cost $3-7 I think. Currently, I only have the medium eyeshadow brush and the powder brush. Since I don't know how the high-end brand brushes work, I can't compare this to them. From using this almost everyday, I think that it works well. It picks up a decent amount of color and is soft enough. It doesn't shed (well not yet at least) and I've had this for a few months already. Cleaning this brush is simple. I just use my baby shampoo to clean my brushes. I would definitely buy more brushes from this brand!

Neutrogena Weightless Volume wax-free Mascara in Rich Black

The reason I bought this mascara was because my friend told me that it was super amazing. I've been using it for about a week now and it's true!!! It never clumps and lengthens naturally. It doesn't add volume or hold a curl very well though =(. The brush is full of bristles and separates my lashes very well. This is my new favorite mascara!!! I'm probably going to try Maybelline's Full N' Soft mascara next. Has anyone tried it before?

My Thoughts:
Love, love, love, love it! It gives me a very natural look which is good for work and school. You could probably apply a zillion coats of this and it wouldn't clump. Ok, not really THAT many... but you get my point. The brush is a nice size and can reach all my eyelash quite well. The only thing that I don't like is that it can't hold a curl very well. Maybe if I use a curl holding mascara underneath this one? If you know of a mascara that holds a curl well please tell me!

I went to Target, Walgreens, and Bath and Body works today. Had to get some party favors for the party I'm hosting on Friday! Anyways, I saw E.L.F cosmetics for $1.00 each at Target, so I just had to get them!! I got three lip glosses called Angel, Watermelon, and Pink Kiss. Angel is a sheer gloss with sparkle stuff inside. Pink Kiss is a pale pink color, similar to Bath and Body Works Pink Grapefruit lip gloss. Watermelon is a deeper shade of pink, kind of like maroonish. This line is called Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15. I don't think I'm going to try them out... instead I'll use them as party favors =). I'll ask my friends what they think of it.

Then I headed over to Bath and Body work to check out their new line of C.O Bigelow tinted lip glosses. The smell was too strong for me so I didn't get any, but my sister got Liplicious lip gloss in Frozen Daiquiri. The smell of it isn't that great, but it's bearable, and it looked wonderful on her lips. I did buy a pocket-sized mirror ($4) from them which is super cute!!! I'll get a pic later... It can fit into any purse or bag easily and is about the size of my palm. I wanted one in white, but they didn't have any, so I settled for light blue. I've almost used up my lovely Snapple lip balm so I needed a new one. C.O Bigelow has a lip balm called SPF 15 Mentha Lip Balm Stick (No Shine Formula) and I was temped to get it until I saw the price... $7.50!!! Geez, no way am I paying that much for lip balm... maybe when it's on sale.

So to find a good lip balm, I went over to Walgreens to check out their stuff. In the end, I bought Burt's Bees lip balm with Pomegranate oil. It was $2.99. Most of the reviews are good, and hopefully it will be as good as my Snapple lip balm!

Purses, hobos, totes

Spring is almost here!!! We all want a new bag that will match with our outfits right? Totes and hobo bags are the "in" thing right now. Most girls have a stylish backpack or an Abercrombie or Hollister tote bag that they use at school. Am I right? How many of you wish that you could have one but it's just too expensive for you? Target has really cheap tote bags with some really cute designs, but they might not be big enough to carry all your school books. I would say stick with your a good quality Jansport backpack. If you buy one, it can last you many many many many years!!! I've had mine for 3 years now... and it still looks pretty new.

Now on weekends, you don't want to carry such a big bag around. I saw these amazingly cute hobo bags at Target that aren't too sophisticated for you young gals... they are just right! They are also small and can fit everything you need, like lip gloss, cell phone, gum, ect. I bought the yellow one because I love bright colors and it matches most of my clothing. The best part... it was only $10!!! You could have bought all the different colors and have a purse for every single outfit and be under $100! The colors that I saw on sale were brown, pink, black, yellow, blue, white, rainbow, and green. Each of them come in a certain pattern, you can probably see the patterns at target.com. I was really tempted to buy the green one because it's really pretty too, but it didn't match my outfit I was wearing... lol, I know I'm a weird shopper. Now onto the ratings.

Anything else about this bag: It's reversible! So if one side gets dirty, just reverse until that side gets dirty... then wash it! There is a pocket on the pattern side which is not too big. It's a good pocket for smaller items that you don't want to lose in the bigger space. The only thing that keeps the top close is a string, so don't turn it upside down or you'll make a huge mess! I like that it doesn't close because I think it's a hassle to open and close your purse every time you want to take something out.

Size: 5/5 It's a perfect size for the weekend. It's not heavy at all because it's made out of fabric. I can fit everything I want in there and it won't weigh me down.

Top: 5/5 No zippers, no flaps, no magnet things, just a string to close (which i don't think i'll ever use). I like my bags open at all times =)

Price: 5/5 $10!!! Can't get much better than that.

Overall: 5/5 Excellent. I would recommend that everyone has one of these. Even if you only use it as a pool bag or something.
